Elizabeth DAWS as her name appears on the certificate of birth was born on 26th May 1845 at Godolphin, Breage in the District of Helston in Cornwall. Her father Thomas DAWS, a shoemaker registered the birth and her mothers name is given as Mary DAWS formerly STEPHENS, However according to the IGI Christening record, batch number C022261 Elizabeth was christened Elizabeth Stephen DAWE the daughter of Thomas & Mary DAWE of Crowan 9th August 1846 in Crowan, Cornwall, England.

Elizabeth appeared with her family recorded as DAWS in the census held 30 Mar 1851 in Godolphin Moors, Cornwall, aged 5 years and on 7 Apr 1861 she was described as a Mine Girl in Townshend, Crowan, Cornwall where she appeared in the census as Elizabeth DAWES a visitor with the family of Mrs Eliza JACKSON

Elizabeth appeared as Elizth. MARTIN wife of John MARTIN a Miner on the census held 2 April 1871 at Townshend in Crowan, Cornwall along with their daughter Hellece aged 2 years who's birthplace is recorded as Marske Yorkshire.

Elizabeth died on 15th February 1880 in Cornish Row, Llanengan, Carnarvon.
